How To Use the Custom Checkout Template

Your Ocean eComm Treasure Box Addon for WooCommerce enables you to build a custom Checkout template.

The custom checkout template builder does not yet support multi-step checkout. However, your OceanWP WordPress theme provides you with a free multi-step checkout feature.

Custom Checkout Template

If you want to go beyond OceanWP theme's customization options for WooCommerce and build a custom checkout template for your eCommerce website, then you cannot use the multi-step checkout feature. At least, not yet.

In order to properly configure your custom checkout template settings, you need to:

1. Navigate to Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Checkout.
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the available settings.
3. Make sure the "Multi-Step Checkout" feature is unchecked (this feature is disabled by default).
4. Publish changes in the Customizer.
5. Navigate to your WP Dashboard, eCommerce OTB > Template Builder.
6. Add a new template, name it and select the correct category (Checkout) and Save Settings.
7. Edit the new template in Elementor and use the available widgets from the OceanWP eCommerce Checkout Builder category. Learn more about how to properly use the available Template Builder widgets for Ocean eComm Treasure Box custom templates.
8. Save and publish your template.
9. Navigate to your WP Dashboard, eCommerce OTB > Woo Templates, select the preferred template for the Checkout Page and Save Changes.

Default OceanWP Multi-Step Checkout

Your OceanWP theme comes with a prebuilt option that enables you to use the multi-step checkout feature for your WooCommerce website.

In order to make use of the multi-step checkout feature and ONLY if you are using Ocean eComm Treasure Box, you must ensure the Checkout page is not making use of any of the custom templates:

1. Navigate to your WP Dashboard, eCommerce OTB > Woo Templates, select "Select Page" option for the Checkout and Save Changes. This action will unset your custom template and now your Checkout page (Pages > All Pages) will be making use of the default WooCommerce Checkout features, which you can customizer further with your OceanWP theme.
2. Navigate to Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Checkout.
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the available settings.
4. Make sure the "Multi-Step Checkout" feature is checked (this feature is disabled by default).
5. Customize the Multi-Step checkout by making use of the additional options in the Customizer which will appear once you check the "Multi-Step Checkout" option. If you're not seeing these additional options, publish changes in the Customizer then reload it.
6. Customize the checkout as you wish and start selling.
