How To Use Products Purchase Notifier

Welcome to your Ocean eComm Treasure Box!

The Products Purchase Notifier aka Live Sales Notifications is a new feature, available as of Ocean eComm Treasure Box 1.2.0.

The purpose of the live sales notifications is to create engagement on your eCommerce website, motivates potential customers to take action, as well as increase confidence in your website.

The Products Purchase Notifier displays cards on the frontend of your website and notifies your visitors of the recently made purchases by giving the impression that your shop is active and customers are completing orders.

Products Purchase Notifier aka Live Sale Notifications Settings

To enable and use the Products Purchase Notifier feature, navigate to your WP dashboard, open the eCommerce OTB dashboard, and go to the Modules tab.

Click the "cog" icon next to the Products Purchase Notifer option to load the settings.

To enable the Products Purchase Notifier and see inner settings, set the slider next to the Enable Module option to ON.

Products Purchase Notifier Settings

When enabled, the Products Purchase Notifier module will display various settings:

  1. Show Product Image: whether or not to display the product image on the notification card.
  2. Show Product Quantity: whether or not to display the quantity of the purchased product on the notification card.
  3. Show Customer Name: whether or not to display the name of the customer who purchased the product.
  4. Show Purchase Date: whether or not to display the date of the purchase.
  5. Show Real Orders: whether or not to display real orders. More details below.
  6. Generate Random Names For Fake Orders: whether or not to display fake names for orders if Show Real Orders option is disabled. More details below.
  7. Random Names: Option directly related to the Generate Random Names For Fake Orders. Text field for you to input names you can think of. Add one name per line. Go to the next line by hitting Enter on your keyboard.
  8. Close Type: dropdown with 2 options: Manually and By Timeout.
    1. Manually, the visitor needs to close the notification by themselves.
    2. By Timeout, the notification goes away on its own after the assigned time. Recommended option.
  9. Time to Close: option directly related to the Close Type: By Timeout. Enter a value (in miliseconds) after which each notification will close itself.

Of course, there are additional options:

  • Save Changes: save all your changes.
  • Reset to Default: though the button looks like disabled, it's very much active. This option will delete all your custom settings and reset the Products Purchase Notifier options to default. The option requires confirmation.
  • ← BACK: Go back to the main Modules screen.

Show Real Orders: Products Purchase Notifier

When this option is enabled, the notifications popup will display random products from random customers and related to completed orders on your website.

To summarize, this option will display real data based on your further settings (whether or not to display the date, etc.)

When Show Real Orders option is disabled, the module will display random orders of products that did not really happen. When you're just starting out, this can give an impression that your shop is live and users are actually ordering things.

Generate Random Names For Fake Orders: Products Purchase Notifier

The Generate Random Names For Fake Orders is directly related to the Show Real Orders option. If the Show Real Options is disabled, then the module will generate random purchases based on the products in your store.

If Generate Random Names For Fake Orders option is enabled, then the module will read the names you added from the Random Names text area field.

If Generate Random Names For Fake Orders option is disabled, then the notification will simply display the word "Somebody" instead of a name: Somebody bought this product.

That's it!
